I wanted to take this space to shout out a few artists who\u2019ve recently released music I&#8217;ve found inspiring. Almost all these artists are people I know personally, but I\u2019m not here to blow smoke up my friends\u2019 asses. I just have good taste in music and in friends, that\u2019s all. Maybe this will be a series, I dunno. When I interviewed singer\/guitarist Julien Beillard for the book, he professed to being basically done with making music, so I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that he was recording again. I watched the Kurt Cobain documentary the other day (verdict: OK\u2014be sure to take it with a grain of salt, or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkhouse.com\/buzz-osborne-the-melvins-talks\/\">Buzz Osborne&#8217;s review<\/a>)\u00a0and I couldn\u2019t help but think, certainly not for the first time, about the horrible influence that Seattle grunge had on mainstream rock. This project is a collaboration with longtime WP friend and collaborator Christophe Lamarche-Ledoux (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/organmood.bandcamp.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organ Mood<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chocolatmtl.bandcamp.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chocolat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rockforest.bandcamp.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rock Forest<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and it\u2019s really great.<br \/>\n<strong>File\u00a0under:\u00a0<\/strong>Eerie and exciting, ambient soundscapes with meat on the bone.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s a lot of music out there, so much that you can\u2019t keep track of it and invariably miss out on most of it.
